A Game Producer acts as the project manager of a game development team, ensuring the smooth execution of the production cycle from concept to release. They oversee communication between teams, handle scheduling, monitor progress, manage resources, and resolve conflicts. Producers play a critical role in maintaining momentum, meeting deadlines, and aligning the final product with both creative and business goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating and maintaining project schedules, milestones, and production plans.
  • Ensuring timely delivery of game builds and features.
  • Coordinating with designers, programmers, artists, QA, and marketing teams.
  • Managing budgets and resource allocation.
  • Tracking progress and resolving production bottlenecks or team issues.
  • Supporting the creative vision while maintaining production feasibility.
  • Facilitating clear communication across all departments.
  • Reporting development progress to stakeholders and leadership teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Game Production, Project Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Passion for video games and understanding of the game development lifecycle.
  • Ability to manage deadlines, risks, and team dynamics under pressure.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, Asana).
  • Previous experience in game development or publishing is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies is advantageous.
